The headset jack on the TV is hard to reach and it disables the speakers so you can't just leave it in. The problem is ameliorated by plugging it into the blue-ray player we use for Netflix and discs. I suppose we can move it to Tivo or get an audio switch box but right now we're happy. As for the device itself it's battery powered with a USB charger and a 110V/USB plugin. You can leave it plugged in, turned on and charging all the time. We like the sound quality, I'd say it gives our Bluetooth headset at least as much quality as it can handle.
